There are TONS of threads about armatus, also check the stickies at top. You should find most of your information there. As for availability...they are very rare in the U.S. so Id say damn near impossible to get is AUS.

It's not so true. First, Armatus is not very rare in the US. Second, even if Armatus is rare in the US does not mean it's not available in the other countries... Look at FRT is available all day long in Australia when they are not seen often in the US. :D Or Asian arowana, Platinum Endlicheri available in other countries and hard to find in the US :naughty:

Ive have a pair of vampires for over a year now. Easy to take care of , plenty of roseys about a 100 a week and keep up on the water quality, and of course a nice size tank! They dont like daytime very much.

what kind? and how big?

I dont know who told you that you cant keep two togther possibe male and female they dont leave each others side. I bought them together at That Fish Place in Lancaster PA. they were $50 each, they were about 3 to 4 inches long when bought, now thier about 10 inches. The only proplem that Ive had so far is twice now the one has knocked his bottem fang out from slamming into some of the big rocks in the tank at night chasing rosys around. Im not new at keeping exotic fish and animals put I am new with the computer, so be cool and as soon as I figure out how to download pictures to this site I will do so asap.

definitly not armatus.
scombs can be kept together.
redtails can be kept to gether but may fight.
armatus will kill each other on sight.
