Could a Hyposelocara Temporalis live happily in a 36x''x12'' aquarium, or would this be too small?
Just wondering, as I'm wanting to get one nicely sized CA/SA cichlid for this tank and some cories for the bottom.
Hyposelocara came to mind as they are an amazing looking cichlid.

Doesn't sound too bad. Maybe not forever, but you can always try it.
:D
I do have a 55G it could be moved into, but that tank is coldwater right now.

The Hyposelocara would be compatible with the cories though, correct?

Treat chocolates like Oscars...Same growth rate and adult size roughly....

Alright.
I hear 55G works for a single chocolate, but if it seems cramped I can always move it into a 75.

Thanks for the help guys, it's greatly appreciated.

BTW spizz, do you know where to find chocolates in WA?

A place for pets has them. Your LFS might have them on the list...I special ordered some from mine one time. I was shocked to see the list of things they could get:nilly: Good luck.

I've been meaning to go there, everyones always telling me they got this and that at a place for pets for really cheap.

I'll check with my LFS though, ordered from them before so why not give it a shot.
Thanks again. :D

They may still have a sub-adult at Denny's Pet World but haven't been there in a couple of weeks. Saw some smaller ones at Sierra Fish and Pets at about the same time. Both stores on the Eastside, Totem Lake area for Denny's and Factoria for Sierra Fish and Pets.

55G is too small, and too thin. 75G minimum.
This is fine, the 55G will work as a nice a grow out then.

If I get a chance, I'll check up that way.
I've been meaning to hit up some seattle LFS and the surrounding area as it sounds like you guys get a lot of cool stuff.
:)
