hystrix breathing out of 1 lung??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
2nd...as in last week. I prazied and salted. But since the last water change, I'm just letting her ride. She looks good but just doesn't seem to eat much...though she looks to be eating (I watched her from underneath the tank and she maybe ate a couple blackworms). The boy looked really good too but didn't eat, had a conniption of summersaults, and just croaked. I try to keep it dark, keep my temp up, and keep good filtration and aeration. Got her in a 120 with another 5in hybrid and a small eel (well relatively small) and a couple small plecos. I'm running four AC110s, a Fluval 405, 2 bubble walls, and a 550 powerhead on that tank. The tank looks empty...looks way too big for her but its hers until I get my other male hystrix. They will be the center piece of that tank until they grow out of it. The other 5in hybrid is almost ready to be moved to another tank...Just wanna get him more meaty first. Its a 5 footer though...the old Perfecto 120 (60"x18"x24"). Half gravel/half barebottom with driftwood and fake plants. I'm hoping for the best...pretty skeptical of going back home for Christmas though:confused:

man that sucks!! I think ray777 lost one of his too.

mine seems to be improving. Mine has been doing better and better the last few days.

Sorry to hear that guys. I might have just gotten lucky. I have mine in a 29 with four bicuda, a ton a crappy feeders and a cheap-o whisper intank filter rated for just a 29gallon and he is doing great.

I wonder if that extra day at Pedros helped mine. I had him ship the next day cause I had work.

I use a crap load of salt but I dont know how much. I just taste it. If its really salty it works for me. I do at least 50% water changes ever 1-3 days, when ever I have time. Temp is 86 and Im running a mega airpump too but thats mostly for the bicuda.
