tried the macryn 2, been 1 week. still has slightly clowdy eyes.... Maybe the amount of ammonia in the bag caused his eyes to permatly be like this??? once again acts fine and eats well....Maybe there is no reason to be concerned...

i think this may be the case. leave alone see what happens.

Mine had cloudy eyes, well on one eye. And a huge dence white mark above the eye too, it looked like an eyebrow.

Salt for 1 week. And it was fixed, i only added a max of about 10 tea spoons over 3 Days. and by day 10. It was good as a new.

Just did a water change now, and going to avoid adding salt now too see if it comes back or anything.

Just remember. Have it fully dissolved, and add it gradually. (straight into the sump for me)

old thread, but all 3 of my Hystrix still have cloudy eyes. Had them almost a year. THey eat well and seem healthy, have had other rays in and out of there tank none of them ever had cloudy eyes, just the hystrix.

I have a friend that also bought some hystrix at the same time as i bought mine. One of his has the same cloudy eyes too the others in his tank does not.. Mine are on well water, and his city water.

any more thoughts?

No cloudy eyes with mine. Bougth one in December, one in March, and the last one in July. pH of my well water is 8, and it is rather soft.
