I agree- I do lots of bst and I don’t piss around with scammers. I will sell to them but I make sure I get my money before anything gets transferred over. Often you know who the scammers are if you have your wits about you.
Same I’m a hard ass when people start pissing around on prices.

I was once so mad when someone showed up and pulled the I only have this much cash on me and I have to go to the atm that I told them I’m sorry I’m firm on my price and I don’t have time to wait around for them to go to the atm and i “went to work”.

the other one that gets my goat is the “what’s the lowest price you’ll do”.

I’m much softer and more free with selling when people don’t haggle, when they just buy what they want for normal price I always throw in freebies, I also offer up replacements of fish that die on them for whatever reason

Totally agree with the last few posts. I also do a lot of B/S/T on the internet, related to another hobby I enjoy. I price my stuff fairly, and don't mind someone making a reasonable counter-offer if they are polite about it...but when I price something at a ridiculous low price, I just don't have any patience for that "gotta get it cheaper" mentality. If you recognize something is already a great deal, just say "I'll take it" and both parties go away happy; that's the best kind of transaction. Feeling that you must win or somehow beat the other guy can backfire. When I get that kind of response, I just say no...and that's it. I simply won't bother with that person, even if he/she backpedals and goes up to my original price. A good deal will quickly sell...to someone else...no skin off my nose.

Bollocks...I just spent $150 building the bloody stand for my first ever tank, lovely cabinet also mate, worth every penny.
Behold the 4x2 ex queen bed slats now tank stand finished last night. I hope my next tank comes with a nice cabinet after seeing that.

Nope...wrong country for me. We have a similar forum up here in Canuckistan, but I'm sure all the forums are populated by the same mixture of buyers, sellers, tire-kickers, etc.

Lol, the problem isn't "hard ass sellers"...it's "tough guy buyers", who think that every transaction must be a battle that they must win. They are convinced that they are such superior intellects, such consummate negotiators, such smooth operators that they can beat anybody down. I buy/sell mostly for fun; if it isn't fun, I don't do the deal. If a guy thinks he absolutely has to "beat" me, I don't do the deal. And, somehow...my "junk" always sells pretty quickly, with both parties happy with the transaction.

I have, on occasion, offered up items totally for free for various reasons. Once, I had some schmuck make me a counter-offer on such an item! He wanted it for free...and wanted me to pay the postage as well!!! I recognized him from a thread in which he bragged about the fact that he never paid asking price for anything, ever. We exchanged a couple of spirited messages, which I found quite amusing.

This needs to be made into a bumper sticker! I'd buy one for sure...without haggling over price. :)

24hourcampfire has tons of canucks on it- plus dedicated Canada section… from some of your other posts I know we have some interest overlap…

The attitude over on 24 hour campfire can be tough to deal with especially in the winter when the content gets a really lite
