i collected 8 new rocks yesterday and have been soaking them and cleaning them, once these are added i will do a water change and try dropping the temp to around 18 degs as the tank will then be as i want it.
i will add my internal back into the tank and keep it like this for around a month then remove the internal filter and do a water change and add a heater to around 26-27 degs to hopefully get a pair.
pics will be added later.
well winter ended in my tank today and the temp rose from yesterday at 20-21 degs to 26 degs.
i have turned off the fluval 4 internal and only the fx5 is running now with minimum water movement.
some of the plants have been moved slightly so they cover the surface and i added another 2 smaller plants and they cover the surface too.
1 thing i have noticed so far is they seem to be out and about more today.
i also did a test on my water and got these readings.
ph - 6.8
ammonia - 0 ppm
nitrite - 0 ppm
nitrate - 10 ppm
i even took a pics LOL
i forgot to add i will be closely monitoring the water as i am stopping water changes all together until it needs it so no more weekly WC's. i will only change water once the nitrate really moves up but my feeding schedule is 2-3 times per week only.
the water was changed around 1 week ago and was about 40% so i recon a good month with no water change should be ok.
looking good mate, iam waiting with baited breath, i didnt do any waterchanges for two months from collecting my ornatipinnis and they bred, my ph is high, did 1st ever ph test other day and its.... 7.5-8.0....
