I thought peppermint shrimp were pretty reliable about eating aptaisia as well?perfect_prefect;4138450; said:aptaisia is one of the worst kinds of annoying things reefers have to deal with. do a little reading on it and you will see what your in for. i have been battling it for 3 months, i bought 124 lbs of live rock for $2 per lb because it was covered with aptaisia. i currently have a pakistan, pearlscale, and a saddleback butterfly taking care of mine for me. i tried injecting them which is difficult as hell only works about 1 out of 4 times and you can only do a few each time or you will have too many dying in your tank at once and have a spike in your levels.

i only recommended a butterfly for him in his 20 because a 1" butterfly that has a max size of 6" takes a while to grow to 3" and knowing sbuse's track record for freshwater i know he would do what it takes to upgrade his tank to accommodate the growing fish, otherwise i would have never recommended a fish that gets 6" for a 20 gallon tank.

The LFS started to train the butterflies and began doubling the price saying bred to eat aptasia. Trust me it is very rare your fish will "eat" aptasia. They can pick all they want but aptsia can take some serious damage no problem, removing them is another story.
I dont know his track record, and he seems just to jumpy to order a fish or more than he needs. 2 clowns do require a 30 gallon. If you really plan on upgrading then go for it, i know nothing of you. So my comments may not be as "nice" because you are new, and most new people kill a lot of fish and you cant really "save" money by buying cheap products in saltwater. spend decent money and get some good deals, but always make sure you get quality things. Saltwater is an investment, its not like FW.
