I am officially an MFK'er!!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
From what I've seen from some research online a dovii is just as pissed in a 600g compared to a 90. I'm not going to keep him in a tiny tank. He will be moved to a 90 in due time, and after a year he will have his own 6 ft tank. A 9 inch fish is fine in a 55 for now.

its your fish you can put it in a 20 if you want but imo i would not want to see my fish barley be able to turn around.

Yes I agree. That is why he is still in the 55 and not the 90. Despite the pic he looks a lot bigger than he actually is. He is going to have a SUPER hump when he gets bigger.

whatever works for you. i was just stating the collective opinion from what ive got from the dovii keepers on this site including myself. hope you enjoy keeping the dovii.

Nice fish! Congrats!

I'm normally not one of those tank nazis that say fish need a gigantic tank, but I too agree that the fish will need the 90 asap, and the 180 not too long after. I love these fish but I just don't think I have the means to keep them (and I have a 180g). It's a beautiful fish though, congrats ;)

And I thank you for your input. Trust me I do not want to provide cruelty to the fish. Just because you have 200+ Gallons for 2 6 inch fish does not mean it is even remotely required for a very long time.
