I swear every single thread on this damn site someone posts TANK is too small. So redundant. I have been shopping for a 6 ft tank for weeks even BEFORE I even purchased the fish. He's been in a 55 since jan when the lfs got him, no point in rushing to buy a 90 when I can buy a permanent home when I find one.
Buying a dovii is not like buying an Oscar or something. Especially buying it at that size. I'm not going to spend that money on a fish to watch it deform in my tiny ass tank.
My bad for posting the thread. Next time I'll just fill other users threads with obvious and known facts like tank is too small. A monster fish doesn't just grow overnight.
if the fish has been in a 55 for almost 6 months id watch out for issues. mainly due to the difficulty of keeping water perams good with a larger fish in that sized tank. so could already be stunted some. watch craigslist for larger tanks. I got my 240 for 50$ from some guy who didn't realize he had a 1700$ tank

I hope you don't think that's what I was getting at I just had some one tell me that a 180 6'x2'x29" would work but my 150 gal tank 4'x2'x29" wouldn't work they have the same turn around room some people complaining about tank sizes and they don't understand the concept of the tank size not all about width some of its about depth or turn around room for the fish sry ot
