Uh oh here we go again! This time I will start be prefacing with the fact that I really like this breed and hope to own one or more one day. I, however, do not underestimate their potential. Yes they may pass that aggressive test better then a cocker spaniel by a small margin but seriously would you rather be attacked by a cocker spaniel or pit bull? :screwy: These dogs can be great pets but like any other potential dangerous animal special care should be used.

Today I was walking in the woods to check my minnow trap with my mini schnauzer who loves the outdoors. Well anyway I usually take a .22 pistol with me for amusement and protection from any possible danger being animal or human. Today I made the mistake and didnt. While in the middle of the woods out of no where a 100lb+ rott came up very quickly on my dog. To be honest I hadnt been so nervous in a long time. I pulled out my kershaw knife and picked up a rock preparing to do battle when amazingly my 20lb little schnauzer chased off that dog!! I was still shaken a bit but couldnt help laughing cause I swear on the walk home my dog knew he had done something special and had an extra bounce in his step! :headbang2

Awesome storey JD7. Glad to hear you and your dog were unharmed and so funny that it chased off the rott.

The fighting of dogs or any other animal always gets to me. That one small percentage of people that do it ruin the species for everyone else. My friend has a pittbull that's afraid of it's own shadow. They even had to put a night light in the room for it at night because it's afraid of the dark.

As a kid I was lucky to have lived next door to a massive rotty, approx 120, he was a former security guard dog, 2 pittbulls and a king german shepherd. All these dogs were extremely friendly and playful, granted the 2 pittbulls could not be near each other unless on a leash, they hated each other for some reason. One of the pitts lived with the rotty and a little eskimo dog, the other pitt lived with a mean old cocker spaniel. That was the only dog that ever charged at me out of the collection...go figure.

I will not watch the video. But, I love pits, many friends have them. :D

the subject is an ongoing fight to give some justice to all living creatures who deserve our fight for their rights.. :)
