I agree that this subject pops in now and then...Pits are magnificent dogs ( as are Rotweilers ). They only need strong, knowledgeable owners whho don't consider those dogs as surrogates for their lacking manhood or a weapon.

And those breeds also need another thing, which is less inbreeding by irresponsible so called breeders, that do the utmost for a quick profit.

YOu guys should check out fightingbreeds.com, thats what the site is all about. Raising awareness of the bully breeds, and the misconception that they are "evil" as someone put it...great site, very imformative!

you see my horses... i will not let them go to someone i cannot trust because horsemeat is about $2.00 a pound.. Breeders keep bringing more and more foals into a world that is over populated with too little pasture and farm land for horses.. so eventually alot of those people sell their horses to meat ...this scares me to death.. there are so many wrong things in our society.. we have to put a limit on breeding all domestic animals ..because it is the surplus that eventually ends up being the culprit... too many dogs of all kinds in shelters with a waiting death sentence.. too many cats.. too many fish taken from the rivers and streams for consumption and hobby etc etc.. It is all a fight but it does not matter if its a pitbull or a horse .. if you do not have a place for that animal to go and live a good life then people should not breed them.... :(

I look at them everyday and i pray they will always be able to stay with me. And if i ever win the lotto i will make sure i have a few pitbulls, few more horses and anything else that needs a haven.. :) I do not agree with alot of what peta does... i always ask myself ... if they put just one animal in their care.{just every menber of Peta adopt something}.they would accomplish a whole lot more..you cannot just talk the talk..but should walk the walk..

it makes'em feel tough. (no offense to anyone on here) but it also explains alot of my customers who have oscars and Piranhas. it makes them feel bad ass to hve mean ass animals for pets

Theres nothing wrong in having mean ass animals for pets... it is the owners responcibility to respect that they have an aggressive animal and treat it accordingly.. not to abuse it or abuse others because of it.. that is where most people who have these type of pets fail and make it bad on the rest.. :(

The thought of such disgusting acts makes me sick. I take my pitbull to petco, petsmart, the walking trails, and the lake as often as possible so I can introduce him to as many people as possible. I've had very few bad reactions. Most of the bad reactions changed once they saw he was the best behaved dog in the area. I try to make him an ambassador(sp?) of the breed. So far it has worked. When I adopted him(no one should buy/breed them since so many need homes) my dad said he is not a dog, he's a weapon and a killing machine. Now I can bring him to my parents house and their place at the lake. Nature and nurture both play a part in every living things temperment. Until we can give people enough nuture to overpower their nature, there will always be agressive dogs of every breed.

P.S. My pit came from TWO abusive homes before I got him and he is NOT human OR animal aggressive.

Liz you must be the nicest person who posts, I don't think anything you have ever posted has been negative or provacative and you are always supportive of people
I agree that it's sad that some people are so lacking in empathy that causing pain/harm to another creature is considered "sport" At least boxers, and football players choose to do what they do

How many times have I heard "oh i just want her to have one litter before she gets spayed so the kids can have the experience":nilly: :nilly: :nilly:

LOL I'm out of work until Saturday because of a dogbite NOT a pit and it's an occupational hazard so it's not as if I'm mad at the dog OR owner.

With all my cats I worry because honestly who would take care of em like me
There's an organization called Home for life, I need to speak with someone who has dealt with them but I'm strongly considering setting something up

Hmm Sorry for Hijack
How to change how people treat animals when they don't treat each other well?
