the subject is an ongoing fight to give some justice to all living creatures who deserve our fight for their rights.. :)

You have beat this subject into the ground. You post again and again right after your own remarks in order too??? Have a high post count? Why not just go into search and find out what everyone thought last month, or the month before, or the month before?

I'll make it easy and qoute what I said months ago. I'll drop one if I find him on my property and I really believe that there wouldn't be a lot of local opposition if I did.

"Yea..the media is the problem with pit bulls. The only problem with Pit Bulls are..Pit Bulls, and those who own them. You guys like to blame everyone for the Pit problem but the dog. And it doing so, you are convincing nobody but yourselves. The dog is statisically a dangerous breed that causes more fatalities than any other breed. End of story.

Please look at the following study carried out in late 2006. Referred to as the Clifton report. The numbers are taken by press reported incidents of Fatalities and Maimings. It is written from a legal point of view. Please read the beginning. Look at the stats. then read the conclusions at the end. It supports the CDC stats from the late 90's. Owners should find it interesting to find out what the thinking is behind increased insurance premiums and why some shelters are beginning not to except Pits for placement.

I kind of agree with what you're are saying but its kinda wrong. Firstly we can't stop breeding domesticated animals. They're the reason why civlization 1000's of years ago evolved and why we are here now.

I agree that over breeding the horses and selling what you can't keep as food is wrong, but i don't think that eating the horse is wrong. Food is what you make of something. Take for example me and my house mate. I see a rabbit and i think aww cute fluffy bunny. My house mate sees a rabbit and is thinking mmmm nice stew.

First i want to say that i am really really happy today.. the ban on slaughtering horses passed through congress so so far it is a big win against slaughtering horses... when we think of usng an animal for food we also should think of the process it takes to become dinner... example.. the horse may have spent his days at a show riding a small child to their little victory.. jumping or dressage{horse disipline in the form of dancing} during many years of faith ful riding competitions he becomes injured maybe breaking down a bone in his foot.... he is rendered useless for competition ..so he is sold to an auction ... he ends up on a double decker trailer packed in with other horses until he reaches the slaughter house.. he is kicked by other horses that are panicked from the long cramped ride with out food or water.. sometimes the ride is so long they finally fall to the floor of the trailer{double decker trailers so theres all this going on over the horses heads.. as they travel along high ways at 60 miles an hour... they kick they rear they die a slow death before reaching their destination of their waiting encounter with death.. This happens to pigs, cows and chickens and other livestock as well.. but the horse is not just livestock... it has done its job through out its life and because it falls ill or injured does not deserve to be done away with in this manner.. i am sorry to be so graphic.. but it is not like a deer in the woods that is suddenly shot and killed and eaten for food.. the long process of how this is done is what tears at my heart.. they have become trained and trusted man.. they have served.. Everything on earth dies..it is the way we get there that makes the difference..

I did not start this thread.. but when the subject comes up i do end up in the turmoil maybe because this is where my heart lies.. ever since i was a small child i had feelings for living things around me..the ugly duckling old stray dog..to hiding chickens up in my attic that were destined to slaughter.. i do not know what makes me an avocate for animals and for children.. but i am just compelled to feel deeply.. it is not always a happy place..you suffer alot more then you should because pain and disregard are always vivid in life, whether it is something that happens personally or from just reading the paper.. sometimes i wish i could be like you.. black and white with things.. you do not feel hurt that way.. but i am who i am and you are you... and if i beat this until i am blue in the face it is because i believe in something..you do not have to agree ..

This is a controversial subject that is brought up often. And it should. The main problem is with the unscrupulous breeders who inbreed for specific traits. Size, agression, and ability to inflict damage are quick money makers. As long as this goes on, the breed will continue to suffer until banned. Then on to the next breed that upsets someone's applecart. Please Liz, keep up the fight to help educate people on proper animal care. It is people like you who will make the difference, not people who want to kill animals simply for being on their property.

Alright. I respect that and am also an animal lover as a rule. I don't like pit bulls because of what they have come to represent in a certain level of our society.

Thank you for your open mindedness. I do agree with you on how they are used by a part of society as an object. They were not meant for that.

A society is judged by how it treats it's animals. I don't remember who made that qoute, but if it is true, we are certainly looked down upon.
