Did the temp dropped at all ? were there any stray voltage ? how are other tankmates ?

There was no temperature changes. I have 2 Stealth heaters just in case 1 failed. No stray voltage. Yesterday, I accidentally dropped the cap of my shrimp pellets in the tank and I grabbed it with my hand and didn't feel any electricity. When I took him out of the tank today, I didn't feel any either. All of the other fish are doing great. I just fed them and they were eating as soon as the pellets hit the water. I guess I'll never know what happened. I'm wondering if I should cut him open to see if there was anything wrong with his insides?

Bum deal mate! Perhaps it got spooked and knocked its head a good one. :( Sorry for your loss!

Typically that type of blunt force trauma would cause bleeding....

Wow...that's ashame. Sorry for your loss. It was a gorgeous Silver :( I think most of us has had a fish that was in perfect health and die for no reason.

I dont think cutting him open would solve the mystery unless you are a coroner(sp?).

Do you have gravel in the tank? I have a friend whose aro ate gravel, the gravel passed the stomach, and clogged the intestinal tract. The aro died suddenly and with no physical signs of death until he cut him open...

Edit: And yes, my friend was a biology teacher LOL

I do have gravel in my tank. Do you mean that his aro just ate the gravel? I have a friend with a silver that would pick up shrimp from the gravel and sometimes the gravel would go in its mouth but he always spit out the gravel. I don't think my aro swallowed gravel. I've never seen him try to eat the gravel. Also, the food that I feed him all float. The only food I feed that sink are the shrimp pellets and he doesn't like them. The Doctor.

thats how my cousins silver arowana died by eating the gravel
idk why it did but it did. Your arowana maybe comitted suicide?
sorry for your loss

Out of all the fish in the tank, I always thought he was the strongest and most healthy.
