fins heal pretty fast usually. sometimes takes a lil time when there older. but usually it heals back completly unless it went so deap it messed up at the base. mine got messed up in 1 spot and it never grew back in that spot again.

I don't mean to critisise but you should have waited untill you got the pond so that if for some reason you can't set one up you aren't stuck with 3 big fish.
congradulations again.. I know everything will work out because you will do all that is nessasary to ensure that it does.. you are a true arow lover.. and savior and i wish u the very best.. 
the best thing to do is FIRST, get the fish. its more motivation to get things done. especially when you sit there looking at them knowing they need the space. if he only had 1, he would sit and dream about owning 3, and some day having a pond. instead he has the 3, so every day he see's them, he's gonna sit n say damn i need to build that pond.
