My Oscar is in the pond and the pair have the 75g to themselves! I had forgotten how much water Oscars can throw at once. He literally smothered my face and head, all at once, with one splash.

LOL payback. Anyways the females should be fertile from the first breed and you can breed them back to the dad.

I don't think I'll even need to backcross. Those look like (and I'm just guessing) direct offspring. Traits are 50/50. I'll have to grow out the first batch and see what they look like...

I've packed them full of red wigglers and wood lice, temp is at about 79 degrees. Will lengthen photoperiod over the next few days up to ten hours from eight.

I know Mommy isn't the hottest chick on the block, but I'd think Daddy is exceptional for a Dempsey. Especially one sold by Pet-tard as a convict! I laughed so hard at the bad ID that I bought him out of spite more than anything. He was pretty, even as a little guy. I hope they have beautiful babies, and if they are worth looking at, I will be sharing with as MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE because I might have hundreds. I will allow cannibalism, and I will cull fry at 1.5" that aren't showing color... The best one or two, I keep for me.
