I know some people on MFKers catch fish and keep them, like pbasses, right? But doesn't the hook cause injuries to their jaws?

To really understand and feel how it works, try plunging a fish hook through the side of your lips. Either side will do.

For a real experience ask a friend to pull the hook while it's still attached to to the side of your lips. :naughty:

Hope that answers your question and you really get it now.

as for the fish are dumb thing this is true fish have short term memory loss about 3 seconds after a few times they,ll remember and hooks can do serious damage or very subtle damage depending on were its hooked towards the back of the mouth can be fatal through the skin betweenthe lip and jaw is such a small amount of damage that it regenerates in about 2 weeks

short term memory loss??? thats the biggest piece of BS ive heard all week. if they have short term memory loss then how do they know that when people are around its usually feeding time. or oscars get used to thier owners and eat out of their fingers. if they had STML then they would swimm away everytime. or why is it a fish from a lake will bump into the walls of a tank for the first week or two, but a fish from a tank if put in a pond will swim like its been in a tank its whole life, if it really forgets wouldnt it swimm away right away or wouldnt the wild fish run into the walls everytime it woke up.(or every 3 seconds) . or how does a fish establish a territory and keep it? fish dont forget, their just not that bright.

Very well said man.

Also, if people think fish are so stupid; it makes me wonder, how fish have been alive for hundreds of millions of years. We've been alive for a couple thousand or so, and it seems as if we are going to die soon enough.

What's real BS is to think that short term memory loss does not occur in fish. It happens to people too. It just does not apply to all facets of memory, fish or people.

Now where did I leave my gun?

Are you really that dumb?!

Our species, Homo sapiens, have been around for over 200,000 years! Fish ARE dumb. Period. While they have the very limited ability to learn, their learning ONLY deals with their ability to eat, keep from being eaten, and having sex. They have no ability to reason or to even be aware of them selves!

Dumb and dumber on board here....
