I don't get how it works, fishing for fish and keeping them

Our species, Homo sapiens, have been around for over 200,000 years! Fish ARE dumb. Period. While they have the very limited ability to learn, their learning ONLY deals with their ability to eat, keep from being eaten, and having sex. They have no ability to reason or to even be aware of them selves!

the fish we have today were not around 300 million years ago, they evolved from prehistoric fishes. just like we evolved into humans from prehistoric primates, which supposedly came frim fish as well (i guess everything came from the sea). so ya, fish arent that intelligent.. we passed them up 200,000 years ago.

I think they (fish) are at least aware of themselves. Plus, all beings are inferior to Humans, that's why we're on the top of the food chain, it doesn't mean other beings are stupid. They can be intelligent and interesting in their own way. Anyways, way to derail a thread.

I would consider myself dumb if I kept going for the random cheeseburger thrown through my front door with a hook in it.
On another note, I just put melafix in the water with my recently hook caught fish and they heal up pretty quick

I don't think fish are quite "aware of themselves". Primal instincts are quite different than consciousness.

Not all beings are inferior to humans. There are many more successful species as far as survivability/longevity goes. We are just more intelligent.

And you wouldn't be on top of the food chain if you lived in the ocean. That's why I love guns. I'll always be on the top of the food chain.

And to the original poster- Duh! Free fish is better than paying for them.
