Hello hello, Im a bit new on this site, and to this hobby, but I'll do my best to comply to the rules when asking a question, anyways, on to the problem.
Yesterday, I got home to find my longest living fish (Puddles, whom is a common goldfish I won at the fair in '10) was sitting in the corner all lonesome with what appeared to be a small scratch on his side. Seeing no signs of his usual livliness, I continued to observe him. From time to time he got up, swam eratically for a few moments, then settled back to his corner. I had never seen anything like this before! So I looked to my other goldfish for answers, and saw similar white marks with the exception they were on her eyes, poor thing. Not knowing how to diagnose, I paniced and searched the internet, and settled on adding just a small dose of aquarium salt. (2 and a half teaspoons in a 40 gal tank) Unfortunately, I didnt even think of the consequences for my poor Cory Cat. I've read some of them are alright with very small dosages, and I've also read they have NO tolerance at all! I guess in short, I'm looking for advice on where to go from here. Any kind would be much welcomed and appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Also, I suppose I should include water parementers.
