I Finally Got My Grammodes

Thanks mate. I haven't had a non-african fish murder in over a year. Sixteen hours or so is a record. Are your pair kept with any tankmates?

He has to settle in then he will be easy to photograph... he is awesome..

Thanks, I think he's awesome too. The way he "ambushes" pellets is too cool. This guy is quickly becoming my favorite.

Yeah the pair are currently in a community with a male jaguar, male GT, pair of convicts and a pair of jack dempseys. They was being kept in a 55 with blue acaras and rainbow cichlids fine, other than the salvini no aggression.

The grammodes wont be staying in the 120 for long as iam giving them their own tank as i hope to spawn them.

Cool. Grammodes seem to be the new hot thing for American cichlids, lol. Mine will go into my new 350g along with the fishes in my sig next week when it's finished being set up.

I'm glad that you got the guy. I had him and the one in the adjacent tank on hold for over a month. Finally took mine home on Sunday.
I was originally going to buy both and keep them divided in the same tank, but decided against it.
I work there part time - Wed. evenings a Sundays. Come see me some time.

Nice.. where is the LFS at? I'm in Virginia.. 1.5 hours from Greensboro and about 3 hours from Charlotte so if it's doable in a day I'd be interested in driving for the day sometime.

Wow, only aggression against the Salvini? Mine absolutely hates my Rainbow Cichlid, and hated my Convict, Leporinus...

Surprisingly didn't mind my Gold Severum.

The one I got was in a tank all by him self, seperate from the others. I'll be back there in the next few days. Ash said there is some male doviis coming in today. If they're any good, he's going to hold a good one for me. I've got this crazy idea of all five Parachromis in one tank.

I'd say it's probably worth the drive. They're the best place in town. The prices can be high sometimes, but they only have quality fishes.

Thanks. I actually saw her swimming around some when I got home from work. She looked ok from what I could see. She ventured close to one of the rockpiles where she used to hang out. The cylindricus chased her away, back to her hiding spot. I think the cylindricus targets her more than the other fish because the grammodes and cylindricus both like hanging out around the rock piles more often than the other fish in there. I'm going to have to get that Tang aquarium cycled so I can move the cylindricus to it. I've actually thought about ordering another grammodes, next size up. Gotta think about it.

I'm glad she's doing better. I understand what you mean about getting another. This fish is awesome. It has great personality even at 4 1/2". He's eating pretty good too. I've got him on Hikari BioGold and frozen and freeze dried krill. It seems as if he'll eat more if I feed him four times a day with a smaller amount than the usual twice a day I had been feeding that tank. Besides the little Salvini, he hasn't given any other fishes in that tank any trouble.

The best part is that he always seems to be sneaking around. It's too funny.

The prices are definitely on the high side, but Ash will usually hook a good fish keeper up. My name is Justin, will only be working on Sundays here on out.
The doviis were not sent unfortunately.
I have a 9" male dovii that was sent to the store as a "5 star general", at about 4". Think I paid $20 for him.
