I think I'd be sleeping in the tank if I brought that home. But I'd go for it anyway!!!!

I think the just get it advice is short sighted. The wife should be more important than tanks. If she is not at least tentatively on board it could be a point of friction for years to come. When I was married I had a few large tank projects and my wife was not ever a hundred percent from the start but I never just sprung it on her and other than a huge amount of water on the floor from a crack in a 600g she always ended up loving them.
Well the thing is, my wife wants me to get a big tank. I've been talking about it for years and the way I explain it to her is if I get a big one then I will get rid of a few that I have, so she likes that. The more I think about his tank though; I’m probably not going to do it. We will be building a house in a few years and I want to get a massive tank built into a wall. This tank would be perfect for that but in the mean time I really don’t have a good place to put it and actually use it without it literally taking up my whole living room. It would be awesome, but I just need to get ahold of my impulsiveness and be patient.
I agree with the statement above. First thing for me was to get the lady involved and agreeing. In my case it cost me a pretty penny 1.5 carat mounted on platinum with smaller bling on the side
