An LFS had this one labeled as a "black jaguar". I'm pretty sure this is a loiselli, but I had to get it anyway on the off chance it would turn out to be a freddy. Head and body shape seem more managuense like (and yes, I KNOW it's not a jag, lol), but coloration says loiselli. What do you guys think?

He's already competing with all the big boys for food. That's a good sign for being so small. Also, for those that follow my jibber jabber, I'm going to check out some Parachromis "la ceiba" this weekend from a local club member. They are supposed to be mostly males, but maybe I can squeeze another pair in my tank if I'm lucky. I already moved the RT and sold my grammodes to make room for more Parachromis in anticipation. :naughty:

Nice grab!

Nice Freddy ya got there!

You think? It has the exact same coloration that my female loiselli had at that size, but the body shape is different (more jag like than football shaped).

I admit it's a guess....looks more freddy to me but I'm probably wrong lol.

Head shape and the markings on the face say Loiselli to me. I've always thought the Freddy's had smaller and more black markings than the Loiselli.

I would say it's a female loiselli. Nice pick up mate!

Very nice Parachromis. Be careful with those La Ceiba though, very mean. I hope it works out for you. You have the sweetest tank ever man, I love it haha

Thanks guys. I agree. I'm thinking female loiselli. Maybe that lone male will get himself a gal.
