I got a Crawdad with eggs on it!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
well i tore apart my room and i didnt find her :(..i put up a humidifier to help her live longer and hopefully long enough to find her..im really down because of this :(

just keep looking. hopefully ull find her

Keep looking, check little dark spots, they like to hide in really inconvenient places (I find mine under my bookcases, TV stand, dresser, etc... all really little dark hole type places). You'll find her.

ive looked under and through my stuff and most of the things in the basement. is there a way to draw her out?

You know, I'm not sure. I've heard people recommend placing low lipped dishes with water out and plates with food. But I'm not sure how the cray's senses are outside of water actually. Hmm.

Hopefully you find her! I don't know about anyone else but when I was younger and kept crays.. I got a screen wire small animal cage top lid. and cut a small hole slightly larger then my airline to run into my crayfish tank and took a small metal nail file ( like a mini rasp!) Mom hated it when I stole hers! haha! to file off the pointy parts and it worked like a dream! I also was useing sponge filters or those lil' tetra mini filters for them. my one LFS also gets alot of used smaller tanks with light hoods but the filter is missing ect. I picked one up that 5 gallons thats pretty secure that I use for my african clawed frogs who are also escape artists! If your checking your basement.. check your sump! I've found a few frogs that escaped in mine!

ill try placing a dish of water in my room..should i put it like under my bed or something or in the middle of the room?

well im saying shes probably dead now...but there is good news tho..i went out seining with my dad just now and i caught 2 berried crayfish!!! i have them in my divided 20 gallon long aquarium right now with an internal filter and a screen top. one of the crays eggs look recent but the other ones eggs are already about done hatching! im still down about the loss of viv but now i have 2 more berried crays :D
