wow I could have sworn it was a characin. Not only the stripe and lack of spots, but it's snout doesn't look long enough to be a gar.

it may be one of the spotted/florida crosses that are imported to the UK all the time.

I got mine from dan who got it from his LFS when he came to get my silver dollars, and mine looks exatally the same, only i cant get him to eat ANYTHING, he looks at it then leaves it, ive tried blood worm, worms, beefheart. Dan what you feeding yours on?
I fee mine Frozen Bloodworm.
If yours won't eat frozen try live bloodworm. Yours ate your convict fry right ! so it obviously has taken to live foods which can be a pain in the arse as when they get bigger and you try to feed them pellets they will tend to ignore them. Simple soloution tho just starve it for a couple of days and then the sight of dried or frozen food will look like curry to a piss head !!!
