I got a new..... Something...?

Hey everyone, did some research and finally picked up a new fish. Apparently, it is a Red Rose Queen (according to the Pet Store I purchased it from). I'm a little confused on how to identify a Red Rose Queen. Everyone I talked to said they are something different.

Mine, has red eyes like a flowerhorn, flowing fins like a flower horn, but color of a Midas/Red Devil.

Regardless I purchased him for $25. Normally I wouldn't buy a chiclid this big, but I have never seen a fish with so much aggression, without guarding a nest of fry. He is overall an awesome fish.

I will post pictures in hope that you guys can somehow help identify what exactly he is.

Yeah, doesn't look Rose Queen. Would have white eyes if it was for starters.

Rose Queen has more inset eyes, white eyes, smaller mouth, and a fan tail.

Agree, heavy on the RD genes with a possible pinch of Midas.

$25.. They also had females there for $25.. At what age do they start breeding? I read that Red Rose Queens were highly unfertile, but perhaps now that I know it isn't that, it may be a good breeding project!
