I say thats a good price for a large rd/midas.

Its not a bad price, paid $30 for my Red Devil a couple weeks ago at the same size. Looking at your, it might have some Vieja in it but I wouldn't worry about it being sterile. Yours should be able to breed now.

Someone probably tried to make a homemade Rose Queen and this was one of the many offspring that didn't get many Vieja genes. Its defiantly a hybrid.

Excellent! Perhaps I will go get the female soon and try and start breeding. Do they usually accept each other, or how does that work?

Well if either is interested one of them (usually the male) will start shaking its body in an attempt to court the other. They might lock lips which is normal. If one turns tail and runs then you will need to separate them with a divider till they are ready. I'll upload a video of my male doing that because he has been doing it like crazy since I got him, he and my parrot spawned 3 days after I got him.

Man, I still feel like I got jipped. It sucks when a petstore doesn't tell you the right thing. I'm usually very good at telling what I am getting. Unfortunately, I am not very good with hybrids, and although I did my research on Red Rose Queen (with the limited information available) I thought that I nailed it on the head.

Now I am questioning if it is even a male, and the females they have are females. Can anyone provide any assistance with that?
