i was running 2x 48" T5HO 10,000k bulbs, lots of pressurized co2, external reactor inline with a canister filter, daily EI dosing, and and a crapload of plants and tetras!

you can get a basic pressurized co2 setup for about $200:
- milwaukee regulator $100 on ebay
- 5lb co2 bottle $50 ebay or craigslist
- DIY reactor or glass diffusor $20
- mechanical timer $7 walmart/home depot/lowes
- brass check valve $15 www.greenleafaquariums.com
and thats really all you need for a basic co2 setup
