I got my Umbee

I've got four the same size by the looks of it! I've been trying to grow them on before I introduced them to my wild caught female. An emergency in her tank meant I had to introduce them sooner than I'd of liked. This video was taken 3 days ago. All is fine now! LOL!! She's no longer trying to eat them all.

Goodluck on getting a male....I've bought two groups of 5 umbee's before and they all turned out female. I'd put them into a tank with alot of cover because they will kill each other if not. 6 out of the 10 I had were killed by the largest 3 in the group which all turned out female. I've found the females to be more dominant then the males at the juvenile stage so grabbing the largest ones out of the group means nothing. Goodluck to you in getting at least one male. A few of my lfs has them all the time but I've given up on finding a male and so have many other people who have tried.

*he doesn't ever really sex them I think because of low male to female ratio which would create a overstock of females since they're less desirable but I caught him when he thought he had two males and bought one. But I've heard of non-rapps umbies sometimes having a better male/female ratio in fry..
HMMM?? That's interesting. I've never kept Umbees before and I wasn't aware of the lack of males!
