WARNING: Any person convicted of bringing into New South Wales live fish of a species
or class other than fish indigenous to the waters of the State (or fish exempted by the
regulations) is liable for penalty of up to $5,500 ($11,000 for a corporation) under section
217 of the Fisheries Management Act 1994. Any person who sells, buys or has
possession of fish knowing that the fish has been brought into New South Wales in
contravention to this provision is also guilty of an offence, and the same penalties apply.

I have no idea why i thought someone was bringing a bichir into NSW need to start taking more medication i think.

They are not on the noxious list, because they are already in nsw and you are not the one importing them, you'll be fine... better?


On another note, mox or rat etc... do you know anyone breeding ornates in aus?

Do ya reckon there is much of a market for them??? I was keen to try breeding something like that. Them or senegals. I just didnt think there was a huge market for those sorts of fish here. At the the shop i work at we sell a tonne of angels and tetras and all the regular stuff but have trouble selling the more expensive and exotic stuff.
