What do you guys mean drip system?

basically just a cold water line constantly dripping into the tank, and constantly draining out of the sump. this keeps the water quality top notch;)

Just wondering, how do you handle the chlorine and chloramines? I actually have a water line running right across the ceiling over my big tanks in the basement. But I was allways afraid of a drip system because of the chlorine. I have read about dripping prime as well. But that seems very ineffecient. Cause you would only need one drop of prime for every gallon or so of new water.

i wish i could do something like that...when i have my own house.........
plus water can be expensive.
hey trev, whats the point of having water go into the sump and then drained out?
its like youre filtering water and then dumping it if you know what i mean.

the drip is constantly dripping into the tank, and the drain is constantly draining out of the sump.

it is clean filtered water thats being drained, but the 200 gallons every 24 hours that are draining, is nothing compared to how fast the water is pumping back to the tank.

the sump is the best place for the drain, and it keeps the sump at the same level at all times

so basically...from the sump you have water draining as well as going back into the tank?
