I have been insulted!

In getting ready to leave for my new job, I called my LFS to sell the contents of my reef tank. The fish include a sailfin tang, a yellow tang, a hippo tang, a tomini tang, about 6 damsels, a blue-eyed cardinal, a pair of gold band maroon clownfish, and a saddle clown. Corals include a colt, a weird tree coral(a type of leather), about 9 zoo rocks, 1 rock with 3 elephant ear corals and about 9 other mushroom rocks of different colors. Invertebrates include 2 scallops, a flower anemone, an xl carpet anemone, a bta and 2 cleaner shrimp and we're not counting the snails, hermit crabs or 2 pencil urchins. Then there is about 100 lbs of live rock. The LFS owner came out to the house and took an inventory of what was in the tank and said he would get back to me in a few days. He called me today with an offer or maybe it would be better to say joke!!! $200 for everything.:WTF: Must think I was born yesterday or dumber than a box of rocks.

I would be insulted as well, you never get a good deal selling anything back to a LFS though. They always lowball everything, you'll get a lot more selling everything yourself.

i just paid £15 - $30 for one tiny peice of rock with mushrooms on it! i wish i lived in indiana .....

but, yeah, LFS's are the wrong place to sell stuff. The one I work at just bought 60 lbs of "live rock" that a lady had paid $8 a pound for, which she then managed to kill off. We paid her .50 a pound, scubbed some rock prep or whatever on it, and had it for sale as live rock $8/lb the next day. What a joke, not only did we rip her off, we're ripping off whoever buys the stuff from us.

Yeah, a lfs here wont even bother to buy your unwanted fish or things. you have to just "Give them" the fish and then they go and try to sell it for a lot. Like that TSN I rescued. Lady brought it in and they wanted 80 or something like that with an eye missing and all. But I got him for 6 bucks lol

anyways back on topic , tell that lfs to f himself and sell piece by piece.
