where in our fine state?

Bass Lake

I knew that I wouldn't get full price for them. He (LFS) owner told me that he pays $3 per LB for live rock when he gets it brought in from someones tank, $4.25 per LB when he has to order it. A low ball price would have been $500 which I could have been happy with, and that is still a steal.

Well, I figure that if I am going to loose that much so he can turn a huge profit, I am going to give the corals, a Psychedelic dragonette, and the purple tang to a friend. The anemone is going to be sold on consignment. Then I will see what kind of offer he gives me on the rest of the live rock, fish, and invertebrates.

Yeah we don't pay for fish either, but we'll take them off your hands. We do, however, have a bulletin board to post things for sale, as long as the boss doesn't think you're somehow competing, but at the same time, he's a little paranoid so not a lot gets to stay up there.

i worked at a LFS here, and man they jerked people bad when they brought in trades. Give 5 bucks for soemthign turn around and sell it for 25. i guess it depends on the shop though.

but the set up sounds like a beaut!

markup at the LFS is a minimum of 300%, so they will give you about 33 cents on the dollar, it's business for them

You are not going to get retail, you pay retail

where in indiana are you? theres a few places in midlothian, orland and mt. greenwood that might by your stuff....the place i go to gives me 1/3rd of what he can sell it for. Try animal Island, animal crackers or aquatica...Oh and crystal clear in schererville
