I JUST BOUGHT A VERY NICE HARTWEGI, TELL ME WHAT YOU GUYS THINK

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yours looks like the asian line-bred ones that have intense colors. these are usually used to cross with flowerhorns.

Wow very nice. I have never seen one that nice so I had never thought to keep one.

yeah i was amazed at mine, i think hartwegi and bifa are really underrated they are just as colorful if not more as the rest of the viejas but people seem to prefer synspillum, argentea, black belts etc i love mine and it is very colorful.

That fish looks amazing my friend i have one thats sub dominant and looks no where close to tjat and hes 12+ in GREAT pickup

Bingo. Most CA hobbyists haven't seen a hartwegi with this kind of color & pattern at 4", because the vast majority of them are not pure hartwegi, they are a Thai bred strain known as red spot hartwegi aka Pranburi red spot vieja aka red spot (fill in the blank). For the most part they tend to attract flowerhorn keepers.

Nice fish, great color & pattern, but the chances of it being a pure hartwegi is slim to none.

RD. you're just a HATER ;)

Although I think you're 100% correct and why hybrids labeled as "pure" fish are so dangerous. And hybrids labeled as hybrids aren't!
