I have however wondered why people with freshwater tanks buy them, they seem more geared towards marine.

i personally think theyre geared towards people who have more money than they know what to do with and need all the latest gadgets, as meaningless as they may be, to show off to others. but to each their own. i have a camera setup worth about $4k while most people are perfectly happy with cell phone pics

i just ordered a 300w e heater myself
hoping its as nice as they claim it to be..

I have 7 or 8 of these. I love them. The one issue I have, and it's actually a helpful feature, if the flow around the heater isn't high enough it will tell you. The low flow warning is annoying but it's shows the heater is intelligent enough to know it's only heatering some of the water and not the whole tank. Putting it near a filter, powerhead or bubble stream is enough to keep the flow going.

I am curious as to how the new fluval heaters perform.

Hagen has yet to put out a decent heater (the old tronics, presets, thermal presets and the aquaclear ones were all garbage)

but then again, until the FX5, they never really put out a good canister either..

so I look foward to seeing how these new heaters perform over the long term.

if they are anything like the FX5's, they will be great!

Don't know about quality but I have an old 304 I got off CL that still kicks. Although I don't use it any more.

fluval e heaters awesome, shows the temp digitally and lights up, fluval g6 just looks cool, easy maintenance though gotta love that. takes like 2 minute to replace the cartridge

Does anyone have a suggestion on what is the better filter to use on a 75 gallon tank/ I was looking to upgrade to a canister filter the G6, FX5 or 405? Please help/

I heard they are way underpowered and overpriced. Seem kind of "gimicky" to me think id take like 3 or 4 fx5s instead but to each his own

Welcome to MFK ;)

You should really start a new thread if you want more feedback but to answer the question, between the filters you mentioned the FX5 is hands down the best filter for the money. It will overfilter a 75 gallon.

Yeah but the diffeerence is I bet your 4k camera blows most other cameras away..the g6 is not as good as an fx5 performence-wise
