Bahahahahahahaahaha!

How am I trying to make anyone feel like crap?

Ignorant asses like you just get **** twisted 24/7. Get a life. Some of you seem to be taking this way to personally. Perhaps you just don't want to accept the idea that your hobby is a form of animal cruelty. I am not trying to get all "PETA" on you, but why is my theory so offensive?

Ps: You should come to my house and see my MASSIVE indoor ray pond.
Tom, you just answered the first question on quote yourself. Be careful how you convey your points across. The tone you used in this particular post is very much uncalled for and unnecessary. You need not sound antagonistic here by blatantly telling others to "get a life". Negative comments will fish out nothing but further disrespect towards you. If you want others to treat you with respect when they discuss terms with you, please be constructive when making criticisms instead of hitting it out negatively with the others.

ok so...... why do my rays swim up the side of my tank? j/k i think its just another place for them to swim.

I could care less about cruelty. I like the taste of dead animals and I breathe up all of the good air.

a very large percentage of all the predators in the world also like the taste of dead animals, and all eukaryotic organisms use up oxygen to some extent. thats where the plants come in.

This thread was not intended for this.

It's just a theory.
It's not what you say, it's how you say it. I think if the original post had made it more clear that it was a "What If...?" thread rather than a condescending bash thread, the responses may have not been so negative. Also, I think some people who keep Stingrays, and put their heart and soul into providing them with a comfortable environment and keeping them happy, may have been a little offended. Just my 2 cents... correct me if I'm wrong.

Back on topic, don't Rays detect changes in their environment with their stomach skin? It would make sense...and if so, they might just be exploring...

You all have got it twisted.

Take a captive breed tiger or bet yet human child and place it in a cage with little stimulation and watch how it bahaves.

Random flaming is a bad thing. Too bad you are wasting your time because I am not flaming anyone. I think lazyness in not reading an entire thread and then posting is a bad thing. But hey, I'm just sayin.

I don't need to present evidence. A simple google search will provide you and anyone else with information on the subject. Lions, tigers, elephants ect.

Maybe you should have read my thread. "Perhaps it has something to do" were my exact words. I stated that it was a theory. I don't have any reason to cover my ass.

You take animals that naturally have an endless amount of space and put them in a tiny glass box in comparison and they will might exhibit odd behaviour.

ON THA REAL, I believe these animals that incessantly bounce up and down the glass are under stimulated. I interact with my rays every day to help keep their minds occupied. I know several other ray keepers that do the same thing. Perhaps adding toys and things for them to investigate would help keep them better occupied.

To say that the constant "bouncing up and down" is normal behaviour, is ludacris.

The funny thing is, I did read the thread before making a post of my own. ;)

And no, you cant directly compare the behavior of mammels to that of fish.

Your not a troll, you just lack knowledge about the subject. :screwy:

both of my rays are captive bred, so no they did not come from an expansive amazonian river ecosystem . . . they came from another glass box.
