gotta admit though, they removed a TON of pertinent content. watching it cut up further on tv (AMC is a prime offender ) is even worse

oh i totally agree they removed a bunch of awesome content, however the theatrical version makes sense, before i saw the directors cut i didn't go "wow, this movie doesn't make any sense, i don't get whats going on at all" lol

its just the DC is better, the theatrical is a good movie though still

oh i agree. it's fun watching any version of it.

If i see "Aliens", "Alien", "Predator", or "The Thing" on amc, i still tivo them and watch them in the backround while doing fish stuff or online nonsense. edited quality scifi is still better than 99% of the drivel that is on tv.

but yeah i had a blast watching the 2 back to back, im going to do a marathon sometime soon of 1-3 with the directors cut of all 3 of the alien films

Yea, I'm a huge sucker for "The Thing".
My girlfriend laughs at me, because I have the Tivo set to record it. Every time it is on.

i watched the prequel to the thing and i have to say i like the kurt russel version way better.

i haven't seen the prequel to the thing, i have the original from the 50s on DVD, its alright, the remake with kurt russell is pretty awesome
