Is it something about Aros in particular that makes live shrimp deadly to them? Or are shrimp more deadly than live crayfish or something? I know live crayfish are actually good for Oscars, they eat them in the will as a main part of their diet. I guess I don't understand what makes shrimp deadly.

Shrimp have head and tail spikes. As a precaustion it is recommended to remove these before feeding to the aros. There are many that have fed shrimp with head and/or tail on and experienced no problems. But there is always a chance, as with Rally's black aro.

GL buddy ur aro will hang in there

this was actually the first thing that poped into my mind. when i had a silver i fed him alot of crawfish/crawdads from the local bait shop. he loved them, and i never had any trouble with it. i don't really know if the the craws and shrimp are a fair comparison, but seems kinda interesting.

I'm not sure about live, but I do know it's not good to feed any fish whole prawns with the head and tail. Same reasons as Aros and seemingly, only Puffer Fish and Lungfish may be totally out of harm's way. Both of these groups "chew" their food.

so far my aro is fine, but i can't fully say that it already survived, till about in two weeks time.
