Don't worry man, you have kelberi. The others who say differently are new to the cichla game and have no idea what they are talking about.

Truth is!!! now and days no one knows what they truly have!?! becuase there are so many mix and new types being found, who knows for sure?

ya the biggest pb color is darkening and it annoying me.. maybe in a bit of stress .. need to start removing fishes this weekened.

Well the fact that there are many still has nothing to do with the fact that these are kelberi. You're just trying to not make yourself look dumb. I'm not calling you dumb but just accept the fact that you were wrong and move on.

now now be nice kelberi or ocellaris.... we know in a bit more
but my big pb .. seem to have darken his shades... duno whats up with him... too much stress from other fis hi guess .. time to remove osme

Fish

They remind me of these I bought in Taiwan as ocellaris, but for sure they are a hybrid but I would not like to guess what the mix is

Now now, the fact was already said. I never claimed they weren't kelberi. I was just saying that you were wrong because you claim ocells don't have gold markings and I said that they do. There are so many types out there that I'm most certain that you don't even know what it is. What about Tapajo, tarapto, enviria lake? who knows the mommy who pop'd these guys out? Do you know? Thats right you don't :grinno: if you really want to know lets take some DNA maybe that will help?! I'm not calling you dumb but just accept the fact that your wrong about ocells and move on.

I said the spangles on the fins not the "markings" on the body numb nuts, but if you knew cichla you would know what I was talking about.

There are only 15 described species (a fraction of which are imported and an even smaller fraction are bred), these fish were captive bred, sold as kelberi, look like kelberi, and are kelberi. Kelberi do not come from the places you posted (which are misspelled by the way.) Rio Tapajos is in the Amazon river drainage, Tarapoto is in Peru, and Enviria lake is also in Peru.

Oh and to bring the whole do you know what species it is back to you, why do you say they are ocells? They are not ocellaris, they are not monoculus, which leaves one similar species (which is the only species of the cichla mentioned that has gold spangles on the anal fin) KELBERI.

Why do you keep saying I don't know what it is when clearly you don't know what it is? There's no need for DNA testing when the taxonomic descriptions match the fish the OP has.

I'm going to call you dumb, because you are still trying to say they are something they aren't and because you are insulting me when I was trying to be civil with you.

I'm right-You're wrong-his fish are kelberi-move on.
