it seems to me that everyone else hates these thing, or say they are difficult. i've never had a better filter, and with the quick diconnects services are so easy, i don't know how you could screw it up. i'm looking for a debate but just wondering what exact part of this canister filter people have problems with? i had it on my 45 gallon setup and it was perfect, now that i upgraded to a oceanic 100 gallon and doubted it but now i will never doubt it again, perfect water qualtiy and crystal clear, and i'm known for feeding a little more then most.:)

:nilly:Its a POS. :banhim:

Just Kidding. I have never used one.

I don't understand etheir. i have 2 of them and one is 12yrs old about. And the only thing that i have ever replaced was a 2 dollar o-ring. I run one of mine with the blue sleeve and the media basket full of scrubbies. And the other is a blue sleeve and the media basket is full of filter floss packed in there for a polishing effect. I have one on ech of my 55's. And they do great. I think that alot of people have problems sealing the lids. And you will if you do not line up the tab with the notch. It is sort of like the game for toddlers where you have to put the round block in the round hole cause it will not go in the square hole.

I have 3 of them... the oldest one is 5+ years old, the other two are 3~4 years old, all have been in constant use since purchased...

I use them with the micron cartridges with a blue sock over it... they make excellent micron filters...

The clips which are a part of the main can can/do break after a few years... I have 2 in use with one broken clip each, neither leaks...

The media chamber is a smaller volume than some of the competition... which seems to be a major concern to people who think they need to do backflips to have adequate bio filtration...

I like mine a lot... they are a better filter than canisters with a similar pricetag... and they are a good bit cheaper than any filter of higher quality I've been able to find...

i have 3 350's and 2 h.o.t. mag's they work great.

I've got one on my 90 gallon along with a ac110. First time I set it up the thing leaked all over but that's partially due to the top not being completely sealed. So I guess it's partially my fault and the fact that it is not that easy to seal. Some have complained that the maintenance is high on them but I haven't cleaned mine yet since the tank is only a couple months old and I'm trying to build up BB. I have carbon in my center canister with the blue filter on the outside. Should I put scrubbies or filter floss in there instead??? I've read scrubbies or onlly good in wet/dry filters.

Well I just tried using one that my roomate had gotten with a tank he bought. First it leaked everywhere, then did not move as much water as I had hoped. I then went out and bought the micron filter and blue sleeve, and the micron filter does not fit in the canister. I said screw the micron and was just going to use carbon and the sleeve(which did not fit perfectly either,) and the thing would not pump water. It was running, but the impellor would not line up right or something. Im done with it for now.

I have 2 Magnums on my 110 gallon tank. The first has the blue filter and the media basket filled with with ceramic bio rings with the bio wheel rig. On the second one I have the micron filter in. It's on a timer to run twice a day for about an hour each time to polish the water. It does a fantastic job, but the micron filter clogs pretty quickly.
