the dark abyss
i went to one of the lfs's on the weekend and got a HUGE deal. i browsed the fw section and saw some really cool fishes, one after another, rare awesome species that where catching my eye. after the fw i moved on to the sw section and came across a new setup filled with an assortment of sw fishes, in the corner was a frogfish. i had been trying to track one down for quite some time, quickly i looked at the prices...... it was 150$ way out of my price range i had 40$. next to the frogfish pricetag i saw a zebra lion for 24.99$ but no lion in the tank. so i aksed the girl where the lion was and she pointed at what i thought looked alot more like a frogfish... but wait? who am i to judge, its her job to id fish. i got her to bag me the 24.99$ "lionfish" and i was off. I arrived home not knowing if the fish i had purchased was a lionfish or a frogfish  so i quickly looked it up and turns out its a frogfish, how did i know????. ohh well BONUS FOR ME! it was overpriced anyways LOL so i guess i saved 125$ and the moral of the story is dont complain about useless lfs staff, rather use them to your advantage to get what you want. :D

Way to catch a break.

Great deal now be sure and give your lion fish a good home! Fwiw, most fresh water stores that just have a few s.w. fish/critters don't have a clue. The problem is that they don't have a clue ;)

Fish store by me usually has a couple at any given time. Usually 5-6 inches and either orange or yellow or white or black and they sell for $30. Today I went in there and they had a very large breeding pair. I mean they were huge and I would be very cautious with my hand around these guys, but they were so impressive. Anyway they wanted $300 for the pair.
