and, if your pain is what i think it is, then you have had asthma for a long time...you just never had an attack when you were a child.

Older people that have grown "out" of asthma commonly have a chest tightness which makes it feel like your lungs being stabbed every time you take a deep breath...forcing you to take very shallow breaths for a few minutes.

It goes away / you learn to deal with it...its really not a big deal.

dont really have the chest tightness feeling, its just i tend to breath more often, i took the breath test at the docs, im 460, people my age should be upwards of 600. so thats what worried him, so he provided me with an inhaler to see if that helps, and a chest xray.

for SOME people its no big deal provided you have your enhalers with you (like me, I have mild asthma). the puffers expire by the time I have used them up. I have never had a real attack but have had some pretty tight chest moments before I used the puffer.

on the other hand, in others, like my Mom who has much more serious asthma (esp. around allergens like pet dander), it can be life threatening. you can die from an asthma attack if you don't get the proper enhalers and fast.

definitely, LBF needs to quit smoking.

smoking and asthma don't mix.

I didn't mean to discredit the dangers of asthma, just this "strand" or variant of it "if your pain is what i think it is" isn't lethal and doesn't cause an "attack" like normal asthma does. Its just a discomfort caused by having asthma.

If it is normal asthma then yes its very likely that you can die from it with out medical attention, and doing things like smoking will significantly increase your risks.

i havnt taken it yet, just want to know if anyone could become allergic to inhalers? right now im using ventolin HFA 2 sprays every 4 to 6 hours.
