Asthma attacks are increased by alot of things, stressing out about your inhaler is not going to help. They use the medication in it for infants and the elderly so you're probably safe, if not you still will be okay just need to switch types. Look at this way you are willing to inhale tar, nicotine, arsnic and all kinds of other junk with your smoking it doesn't make sense to worry about alittle medication that should make you feel better. If you want to get better stop smoking, if not, then you are not going to get better, your choice. Choose and then deal with the results that's what we all have to do as adults. I read all the susgestions and ideas in your not smoking thread from all different members of this forum, go back and read it, they have already answered your questions about smoking, told you how bad it is for you, made susgestions on how to quit, the only person who can help you quit is you and nothing anyone else says is going to change that. You are a grown man, you need to make you choices, and stick with it.
I wish you good luck

Stop self diagnosing using the internet, books, MFK or any medium other than your doctor. That is what he is paid to do and you WILL get your self diagnosis wrong, that is why doctors spend all that time in medical school. Smoking will be doing more damage to your heart than carefully designed and delivered asthma drugs.

How many threads have you made about stopping smoking??? You know to do it but you barely even try and then you come back saying you need to stop or you are going to stop or it is your last pack or only smoking cigars or whatever. Always the excuse or trying to justify it. Smoke or don't, it is up to you and only you. You are an adult now and you have to make these decisions for yourself and live with the consequences.
No one can say they don't know the dangers of smoking anymore or what it does to their body. You obviously have zero willpower to do it cold turkey going off your tendancy to make smoking threads but there are a few drugs that you take for multiple weeks and they completely get the need for nicotine out your system and break the habit completely. I used a drug called ZYBAN. Chantix or Champix is the newest one and it apparently very good.

Your low lung test is probably because you smoke, it will go up if you quit. My score was low when I went to quit smoking but now I am 3 years free from it I can tell the improvement in my breathing. My wife has been diagnosed with asthma but she is convinced she is just unfit and it was the smoking that made her lung capacity test low. She has used her blue inhaler, the one for attacks, twice in three and a half years. Both times she was at the gym and smoked. Since quitting she has never had to use it no matter what physical exertion she is under.

ya im about to quit now, going to enjoy one last cig before i throw out all my cigs. i dont really have craving for cigs as much as normal smokers do, heck i dont even now what those cravings feel like. i just like smoking and being socialable with others. when im on my laptop i dont smoke at all. i can go a week without smoking. so quiting isnt a big deal for me. but i am going to enjoy one last cig on my walk to my friends, then going to quit for good

Why would you still smoke one more cig when you already have asthma?:screwy: LBF, you have asthma and you haven't learned your lesson yet to avoid the cigarettes altogether. Just dump ALL your cigarettes right away and clear off the smoking from your head if you want to avoid respiratory problems.

If you haven't heard yet, I have one friend who is prone to cigarette smoking and she landed in the hospital after her asthma took a turn for the worst. She had to be confined in the hospital for more than a week. It nearly took her life.

cichlid, im 5 foot 8-200 lbs. yes im over weight. but i dot hink asthma has anything to do with my weight. ( or it may. ) so yes i am going to quit smoking. i want to have more money saved up for when i move.
