drop eye is from inbreeding. I am sure diet and other conditions can bring it on faster but silver aors are so inbred at fish farms that they have developed a bad case of drop eye. you can try all the tricks but it taks alot of luck not to get drop eye.

there is no need to power feeding silver arrowana, they just grow big very fast.

my old silver was on diet of bloodworms, dried shrimp and market shrimp feed 2-3x week since 5 inches small and it got to be 22 inches in 6 months. btw, there was no drop eye when i sold it.

i think the key is dont feed too much fatty foods.

I know, droop eyes are genetics. But i didin't know that overfeeding them might cause it.

The silvers that I have seen that are kept in ponds do not have drop eye.
