The more I look.. the more I really like the Red Tail Giant Gourami.. How fast do these grow? What is considered to be the minimum tank size for an adult?

It would really match the fire eel if I decide to have another go at keeping one.

I would strongly encourage you not to get this fish. They grow insanely fast and need a 300ish gallon tank eventually. They CAN also be really mean and murder everything. They are also mostly herbivores and would likely eat your plants.

I would have done the rainbow thing but somehow cichlids managed to get there first.
