I need a cleanup crew!

The only fish I said I didn't want was a pleco. Might give it another read. If I didn't want a few extras, I wouldn't have posted looking for suggestions.

Oh,well my mistake for misunderstanding....A lot of fish keepers actually do purchase fish for the sole purpose of having cleaners and not because they really want them...Good luck with your fish.

How about you respond a little nicer next time or this will be the last thread anyone will give you advice on. How about this for a suggestion... Stop overfeeding. Feed him a pellet at a time until he's done and then you won't have to worry.

Oh please. His post just seemed a little crude in suggesting that I was buying fish for the wrong reasons. And for your information, that's exactly how I feed him. When did I say I overfed? Take it somewhere else, didn't mean to come off as rude.

Sorry if I came off as rude krichardson. Text is an empty medium.

Well by you saying that pellets are hitting the ground, you implied that you are feeding too much or feeding too quickly. If you dropped a pellet in one at a time at a rate he can eat them, then 1 or 2 would hit the bottom. Hence the reason for not needing a clean up crew. Needing and wanting are 2 different things.

Ok, well I'll be a little more specific to cater to your needs. I feed one pellet at a time. He simply does not see some of them, as flow from the current pushes them around. Once they hit the bottom, he does not eat them.

Thank you for that astonishing clarification between WANTS and NEEDS, by the way. I guess by that logic none of us NEED fish or aquariums at all, and we can all just pack up our filters and call it a day. Your input has been incredibly helpful.

I would just get floating pellets and train the GT to eat from the top of the water or drop the sinkers near him so he has a chance to eat them....No point in getting other fish that you really don't want.

Yes, this. No need to add more to the bioload.
