ok guys, here's a pic of the rays in the office tank
the motoro got in there 2 days ago,
the pearls went in last night.
all of them seems to act normal,
although the male pearl keep raising his back fin from time to time....
motoro feeds normally, and the pearls ate their share...not very much though
hopefully they're doin fine

I got a pair of leo pups comin on monday from the best cuzz in the world :D
problem is pH in my tank is now 8.1-8.2,
and in his tank pH is 6.9
i'm a bit concerned that this time the pups will have to endure pH shock

would anyone support using pH down?
I cant just do water change since the fresh out of tap has pH 8.5
I've treated a few gallons of water and managed to keep them at 7.8
after a few bounce... and its been 7.8 for 2 days so I guess its quite stable..
is it ok for me to lower my current pH ?
is it too early or too risky ?
guys whaddya think?

if the tank is uncycled which u said it is, and u cant do a w/c for w/e reason.

ur screwed!!!! buying more rays wtf!!

I don;t see a pearl ray in your tank, just 3 motoros. looks like you got screwed there too.
as for the rest.....
your learning curve will be very expensive at this rate.....especially for your rays, if you don;t rethink your strategy. Its like you bought ferraris when you don;t yet have a drivers licence.

Why don't you bring the 2 Pearls down to Iowa and you can leave with a 8 by 2.5 by 2 black backed Tenecor that flows almost 5KGPH and a sump capable of supporting a tank 4 times the size. EVERYTHING you need to run it.... 4.7K GPH pump, and 1K watts of heater.

That way you will have a nice home complete WITH 20+ gallons of allready cycled media for you to put your Leos in.

:naughty:

OR you can just send the Leos directly down here and use the tank for your Pearls......

:naughty:

I suggest you relax with the buying and do more reading and prep for your rays....

More reading is good.

Prep = Bringing rays down to Iowa and picking up a tank worthy of holding very nice rays..... All the reading and prep in the world isn't going to make a proper tank magicly appear.......

hold off on buying rays, with that amount of rays in that small of a tank you are going to need to do waterchages every day. until they outgrow it. Please please please hold off, or sell the rays, there are alot of members on here that would buy them off you. Myself included.
