You did see he said 55g right?

I'd have to say a Grammodes! Maybe an Ery ery but I'm not sure if they are legal in FL.

They were invasive in Florida in past but the winter kill all of them.

So they are prohibited species.

Also jaguar reach only 13 inch long and do fine in 55gal tank as single fish.
Forget about wolf, they can reach nearly 20 inch long.

Jaguar's can get to 17", so no, not a good fish for a 55g, not even alone. And you mentioned Dovii in the first place, not me.

Ironically both of those get larger then an Oscar but you didn't mention an Oscar ;) Even though an Oscar wouldn't work either.

LOL, whatever dont worry about it, OP is thinking about EBJD or green terrors so we dont need to agrued about jaguar and dovii.

If your in tampa and looking for EBJD or Green Terrors,Marine Warehouse Aquarium on hillsborough had them in store like a week ago. Depending how far you are id call first. Good people over there ive bought from them many times.

I agree, the only reason I brought it up is because I've seen you suggest those before. It would be a good list if you removed those two :headbang2

Green Terror is a beautiful fish and great for a 55. Not rare though. Goldsaums are 99.9 percent of the time are the fish labeled as a Green Terror. If you like Green Terrors, and want something more rare, try and get a Silversaum.

A Super Red Texas is a beautiful fish. I am not quite sure of their max sizes though (if they stay close to the size of the average Texas, then I would say you can put one in a 55 for life. If they get the size of the average Flowerhorn, then a 55 will become too small).

Another great looking fish that you can keep for life in there is a female Red Terror.

Okay, I'll chuck an African in the ring.

I dunno about the availability situation in the US, but shy of some rarer Frontosa colour morphs (which aren't suited 55g anyway), one of the more expensive (and thereby rarer) fish here is Benthochromis tricoti.

i would go with either a red tiger motaguense or grammodes "mini dovii" or a istlanum. green terror also.
