i need a way to polish my water better

my 180 filtration is a 30 gallon wd driven by 700 gph and an fx5

the fx5 sucks when i put fine pads in there so thats out

for my wet dry my mechanical filtration is a blue/white filter pad and i use a felt pad

i tried using micron filter pads but there clogg in 3 days

any one have any suggestions that wont require me cleaning my filter every 3 days

Purigen?! De filter? Aquaclear powerhead with quick filter gets down to 1 micron.

I've done just fine with lots of filter floss (polyester fiber, can get in rolls or loose) plus purigen.

yeah, but ht poly fill can clog quickly depending on the stock list.

i prefer to pull out the filter cartridge, and use my own pad/ floss media. but im gooa +1 this idea too

what i use on my 150 is a diy i made out of a powerhead and a tennis ball can. cheap easy and you can add anything from polishing media to carbon or whatever you need at the time.ugly as heck, but it was cheap and it works better than anything i've tried, just hide it behind something.
