I need some help deciding what I should put in my 30g freshwater tank to help clean up.
Common Plecos are so boring... any ideas??

Thanks guys!

Not so common plecos.....all fish make waste. Snails, but they make waste also. Freshwater clams...no, they make waste. I guess for clean-up I would go with a quality HOB or canister filter and some good old fashioned elbow grease.

I think he means to clean leftover food lets not flame him. I swear thats all 3/4 of u guys do is flame....

Whts ur stock in the tank?

I don't know what your stock is.. but I just got a giant bamboo shrimp (he's bigger than my 1" fish) and he's a WORKER. Of course as soon as my fish grow he'll probably be dinner, but I'll have a bigger tank by then and it'll be ok.

whats your deffenition of "clean up?" a good balance of algae eating fish/inverts ect and elbow grease is my own preference. but I have the fish/inverts because I like them.. not just to "eat poop" which they don't ect...

- regular syphoning
- algae inclined
- scavenger type

there are a wide array of fish/inverts that can help maintain your tank. a stock list is a good way to start getting specific ideas. or nixing ideas. 30g may seem "small" but i've already got more creatures flying threw my dome as suggestions then I'de care tbh to type out ;)

if you don't like plecos, catfish, snails, ect... a lil' extra elbow grease will be well and dandy. if you do like these types of fish adding them will help stir up a tank, lessen your algae scrapeing time or erradicate it altogether.
