5 gallon bucket!!! Whoa how long does that last you?
I vacuum seal half of it and the other half lasts about 3 months. I have a lot of fish especially cichlids (6 tanks full of fish total) so around a pound a month I think. I also do not overfeed lol if thats what you guys are thinking. :)

My haps livingstonni electric blue etc eat a lot of the stuff so do my catfish they love it and grow quickly on the stuff.

My O's have not even finished a little 2oz. bag of Cichlid Gold mini pellets. I bought the bag about 1 month ago. (well they did get ich and didn't eat for quite a few days)

How much do baby Oscars eat? They only eat 1 or 2 mini pellets and then they don't want anymore. Every morning when they see me they come to the front of the tank and beg for food but only eat those 1 or two pellets each and then they ignore me lol.

I'm just wondering because my Pacus would eat 10-12 pellets each the last few times I fed them.
most African Cichlids will beg for food until they literally get a terminal case of bloat so you have to get a feel for it. I have only had one fish get bloat and it was not too severe he was back to normal in 2 days. All my fish eat NLS with one exception that being my senegal bichir. Even my lima and tigershovelnose eat the stuff with a gusto.

For sure. Bloat is probably one of the biggest causes of cichlid death (next to and along with improper diet) my friend killed off a ton of his fish before figuring it out.

The more I have thought about what you and tcars have told me the more set I am on getting 2 AC 30s because 2 AC 50s might be too much for the yellow labs.

I know convicts are good fish to keep...but...

The reason I got into fish keeping was that I was starting to have a large amount of stress and it got to the point where it was affecting me and the people around me.

Someone suggested I keep fish. Although I have always liked fishing and admiring fish I never really thought about it.

So fish are so therapeutic to me that I have found myself falling asleep on my couch in my office where I have my Oscars about 3 or more nights a week.

This made me want to get a setup in my bedroom and I wanted black on black with nice lighting and I knew I wanted cichlids and I wanted colorful ones and I love the bright almost "highlighter" yellow on the yellow labs.

So even though convicts are nice they are not colorful enough for what I envision in my bedroom.

You are wise not to open this thread for stocking suggestions. If you know you want Labs, stick to your guns. If not, I would say start a new thread about that. cough...cough..Loaches...cough...

You know I started thinking about what you and that other guy said and I might just move my O's to the 20 long.

What could I get in the 14 gallon? Exodons would be awesome if I could find them.

What about some baby convicts and then move them to the 20 when I move the O's to the big tank when I get it?
