I have a 125g tank that's in our formal dining room. At the moment, it doesn't look very good...Stocklist is:
3x Tinfoil barbs,
3 or 4 tiger barbs,
1 pictus catfish,
1 gold gourami,
6 red tetras of some sort (always forget the name, but they're about the same size as the tiger barbs)

And that's it.
It's not a very exciting set up, it doesn't look very well put together, and I'm just not satisfied with it.

Can you guys give me some inspiration for a new stocklist, aquascaping, etc? Maybe post some links to set ups that I could base mine off of? Thanks :)

Btw, I would like to have the stocklist based around my pictus catfish, because he was my first fish, I've had him for 6 years almost, and I don't want to get rid of him :)
Thanks all.

clown loach? Or you could maybe do an african cichlid setup e.g lake malawi, i don't know if they'd pick on your cat or not.

A pirhana tank, 3 or 4 would look awesome :)

Oh, I should have mentioned. I don't like cichlids.

Also I live in AZ, piranhas are illegal :(

A albino moray eel ;)

YOU DON'T LIKE CICHLIDS?! BLASPHEMY!

Well that really cuts your choices down a lot lol. My suggestion. More tetras.

lol I wish Angel.

Mmmmmmmm I don't think there are any (true) brackish/fresh water eels...I've done a bit of research on them before. Could be wrong though.
I was thinking discus, but I'm not sure about the compatibility with my catfish...

CICHLIDS SUCK.
THEY HAVE ANGER ISSUES, THEY HATE ON EVERYONE, AND MOST OF THEM HAVE FROWNY FACES.

I could ditch my tin foil barbs, and tiger barbs, and then add about 20 more tetras...Then plant it?
How would the pictus do with plants?

I'd personally start off asking what kinda aqua scaping you want to do. Are you up for some live plants? if so go from there. I mean I always try to imagine the enviroment then the fish. What color is your room what color is the wall the tank is on what color is the stand. Once you envision a tank that looks good empty put fish in that will enjoy the existing layout and you are set.

Thank you, Joe.
The only problem is I'm not exactly creative
